Really good food, a wide variety of all you can imagine in dishes, from savory to sweet. Nice environment that celebrates tradition. It might be a bit expensive if you get easily tempted by all the deliciously looking dishes.

I have eaten here for 20+ years. Although food is still very good unfortunately the service has gone very bad. Orders don't only take a very long time, but orders are also getting forgotten. But as long as the food keeps its standard I'll keep coming.

I recently visited Mangai João Pessoa and absolutely loved the experience. The décor and vibe truly evoke the spirit of Northeastern Brazil—rustic wooden tables, vibrant artwork, and relaxed music make for a beautifully cozy meal. As someone who appreciates vegetarian and vegan dining, I was pleased to find a thoughtful selection of vegetable-based sides, salads, stews, and even the delightful local dessert called cartola. The buffet-by-weight format gives you the freedom to build a colorful, flavorful plate at a fair price. While the venue offers local meat and fish dishes, there’s still plenty of choice for plant-based diners. Overall, it’s a warm, welcoming, and atmospheric spot to savor regional flavors—even without animal protein. Definitely worth checking out if you enjoy ambiance and flexibility in your meal! We had a large family group and everyone was very happy. You choose what you want from over 100 items and pay a flat rate per 100g of food. Drinks are separate but very reasonable. Pomegranate juice was made there and amazing. Get the jar (pitcher) because one glass isn’t enough!

My first time in Northeast Brazil and Joao Pessoa. It had a variety of local dishes and specificities from the local cuisine. On a buffet format, friendly service and staff, easy parking.

Great food, great atmosphere, service is ok. Negative: very expensive. Waiting area to wait for a table is too small and without AC.

A traditional Brazilian restaurant where one pays by the 100g of food one takes from a buffet. There are plenty of options and lots to eat. They have an interesting system where upon entering, you're handed a card. That card record the total weight each time one gets food. Before leaving, one needs to pay off the money on the card. Overall, a fun experience with lots of good things to eat.
